I thought now was a good a time as any to give you a little update as to what's been going on lately. I am still having a few issues but they are going to take a very long time to resolve I would imagine so I am going to concentrate on all the good stuff...
My Arm After That Bloody Picc Line!
Health wise, I saw Dr Carby in Harefield after my home iv's & he was pleased with how I had been looking after myself. I am going to be arranging to have a portacath in Exeter as soon as possible as my vein access is beyond ridiculous now, it's a major risk but as long as I really look after it he hopes all will be ok. He wanted me to concentrate on getting back to my old self & putting all the other stuff to one side for now as stress makes me very ill, so that's what I intend to do. As long as all goes as it should I will see him again in July just before my second year lung anniversary...
My June Nails!
Gorgeous Geckos!
I have been spending a lot of time to myself, caring for all the animals & walking my dogs, self healing I guess you could call it Some friends have been in contact, but busy / poorly / or I myself have not been able to meet, but as things progress I am sure I will be having a lot more social time especially as we have some important dates coming up.
We have had some exciting moments in the household recently, the eggs that were laid a little while ago, pipped on Saturday morning & were all out of the egg by Sunday evening! Sadly we lost 3 during incubation, just one of those things, but we couldn't be happier with the 3 little babies remaining, a normal & 2 champagnes. Our very first clutch.
Two Champagnes, One Normal
Also, if you have been following my blog for the last couple of years you will remember me talking about my corn snake, Lynx. She laid her first clutch of eggs last week for me, 20 eggs in total & 1 slug, (infertile egg) bless her cottons, so they are all cooking in my egg-o-bater whilst she has a very well deserved rest!

The Slug (Discoloured Smaller One)
Next week I will be celebrating my amazing husband's 25th Birthday! He has the Friday off work, I am not sure what we will be doing, I've told him, it's his choice, but no doubt I will treat him to a nice lunch or something somewhere & I cannot WAIT to see the look on his face when he opens his presents... (Just the 3!) I can't wait to spend some time with him, we have gone through a lot again recently & it's brought us closer together if that can be possible. Not long after his birthday we will be celebrating our 3rd year wedding anniversary on July 2nd & then just a few short days later, I will turn 31 on the 6th!
Its scary how the last year has just flown by, I do get a bit anxious as I type about it now, remembering what happened to me last year with my heart, fighting for my life again in ITU just a week after my 30th birthday. This year will be different however, I don't intend to spend anytime in hospital over the next few months & will be taking extra care as well as bloody enjoying myself!
I don't think I could say it any better than the facebook status I wrote the other day. I am finally back to my classes which I have missed so much but taking it all very slowly & at my own pace which my instructor is so understanding & supportive about & I have been walking my dogs a lot lately, it has made me feel so good about life, especially when the sun is shining.... So I will end this blog with just that & hopefully write again soon, maybe amongst the celebrations or maybe just after....
My Tired Bears.......
Either way, thank you as always for taking the time to read, I hope you have a lovely week. xxx
Warning : Long winded, soppy status... Sorry.
As I have just returned from a long walk with my baby AB & about to head out again after a snack with my big girl AB, it gave me some time to reflect on what I was actually achieving.
Walking your dog may seem so insignificant to a lot of people, but to me it means the world & wouldn't have been possible without my donor, who almost 2 years ago saved my life. As we are approaching the biggest events of the year of mine & Stefan's lives, I have a lot to be thankful for & slowly things are finally falling into place after a lot of hard work.
It may sound silly to many, but I have lived in Totnes since I was 12 years old & I have never done the river walk to Dartington. One of my goals when I hoped for my new lungs was to do just that, & a week ago, finally, Stefan & I walked Kaos along the river, all the way to the Cider Press Centre in Dartington & back again.
Yes fair enough, whoopie, big deal! People are able to do it all the time. But, seeing as at one point in my life, my husband was dressing me & I couldn't even walk to the toilet on my own, wheelchair bound & on oxygen & bi-pap 24/7 to walking at my own pace with my pup, no words could describe the way I felt. Even my husband was elated.
In 4 weeks time I'll be turning 31. Something I never thought would happen. I still have many personal goals to achieve, obstacles to dodge & demons to fight, but I am just extremely grateful that I actually have that chance.... Peace out xxx
